Like A Cactus

When asked today 'how I was holding up?' during the 'demo'-lition in my house, I thought to myself, 'Like A Cactus'.

'Tall, upright, but a little prickly!' It made me smile and chuckle.

To be honest the only thing about any of this commotion that is really annoying me is the darn insulation that is spreading through the house a virus.

There is a containment wall up in my bedroom where the eight foot wide alien hatched from the ceiling but the blown-in type of insulation is smarter than that, it cannot be subdued.  #insertssinisterlaugh
I think it's smarter than all of us. It's probably in the barn already harassing the ponies.

Progress.... My bedroom no longer has any furniture, no pretty white berber carpet, no anything..except a gaping hole in the ceiling. I am happy to report that the offending insulation that was in the room is also gone, mostly.

Whatever is still snowing down from the attic is an added bonus I guess. There are blowers and a de-humidifier in there which I am told will keep the room warm enough not to split any more pipes. I sure hope so.

The end bathroom has all the fixtures removed, tub included, the linoleum is ripped out and the nasty wet normal type of insulation discarded also. We have a new tub and shower unit in the garage that was delivered today ready to go.

I need to go and get a vanity from one of the home stores. I suppose I will just choose some lino for the floor that I will put in both bathrooms. I don't know what the 'in' thing for bathroom floors is nowadays. I'm not much of a floor tile fan, it always feels cold to me. Feel free to make suggestions.

My hallway carpet has been ripped up all the way to the living room and the under pad has been torn out and tossed. They left the carpet in a pile which I find slightly disturbing but when I questioned them they said it will be fine.

That's about it really for today. Lloyd was the one that took out the plumbing and fixtures in the bathroom. The plan is to work off some of the insurance deductible.

I will attach the photos I took on this phone today. I never thought the day would come that I could or would even want to write a blog on a phone. I am not editing any of the shots and as far as I know (or remember) the order the phone uploads them is how you will see them.

One of these days I will have to get on my laptop and put this stuff on my actual website that Chester and I have.....

I surmised I was a tad prickly today as I only had one hour and fifteen minutes sleep last night. Tonight I will try harder to increase that amount.

Lloyd and I are each on a reclining chair in the living room, it's either that, the couch or the floor. Let's see how this goes tonight. Let me not forget to set my alarm for six thirty in the morning for him. I really hope he gets some restful sleep.

I am hoping he gets on the couch as he will be more comfy there hence I am not getting out of this chair. If he thinks I'm going to sleep on the couch he won't. So as far as he knows this is where I want to be. I hope that made sense.

This is all an experience of absolutely no importance. I am fully aware of the people out there who are less fortunate than I am.

Today was just another day in my little corner of the world for which I am truly grateful to share with my fabulous husband, family and friends - to whom I also apologize for any prickly moments that may have occurred today.

Brass Monkey Tuesday

We are heading for a heatwave......

It's 29*F outside, that's the warmest it has been in a while, and it's 7 pm. It isn't very often that it gets warmer at night this time of year.

The boys were happy to receive their hay for dinner and are glad to have their blankies on.

When it is cold the lights aren't too bright in the barn, but the boys wanted to show off their jammies.
